As Starknet continues along its decentralization journey, StarkWare is excited to support the Starknet network and its broader ecosystem by launching a delegation program.
Background
StarkWare, the core contributor to Starknet, is highly committed to helping advance Starknet’s decentralization journey. As part of this journey, Starknet is gradually moving to a Proof of Stake (PoS) protocol, which secures a network by having participants lock up their tokens, in return for which, they earn rewards for contributing to keeping the network safe and decentralized. Staking on Starknet is a significant step toward achieving Starknet’s decentralization vision.
The Program
As part of Staking v2, StarkWare is increasing its active role in advancing Starknet’s decentralization by launching a staking delegation program for active validators. StarkWare will gradually delegate millions of STRKs broadly across eligible validators. By doing so, StarkWare aims to:
- Expand the Staking Pool
- Improve the stake distribution
- Encourage participation from both new and existing validators, especially smaller validators
- Increase decentralization
We are currently exploring different delegation strategies. On the one hand, a strategy of maximizing decentralization by favoring “small” validators comes at the cost of market neutrality, while a strategy of minimal intervention may not do enough to increase decentralization.
Apply Now!
Whether you’re a seasoned validator or a STRK holder who is new to validation, the delegation program offers existing Starknet validators the ability to contribute to Starknet’s security and decentralization and earn rewards in the process.
- Earn Competitive Rewards: Receive staking rewards for participating in block attestation.
- Strengthen Network Security: Play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and performance of Starknet.
Validator Participation Requirements
There are several requirements for validators who want to participate in the program:
- Be an active validator
- Basic compliance – KYC / KYB is mandatory
- 99% Liveness – Validators must maintain at least 99% uptime
- Maximum commission – capped at 10%
- Testnet validation – Active participation in the testing process of Staking V3, when applicable
How to Apply
- Complete the compliance form.
- We will be in touch with all applicants upon completion of the compliance process.
Note that the initial registration period will last until July 8, 2025. At that point, the first round of delegations will be executed.
Program terms and additional information about the compliance process can be found here. For questions or assistance completing the form, please contact [email protected].
