STARK @ Home 24: Fireside chat with Professor Dan Boneh
From Elliptic Curves to ZK-SNARKs and Beyond
January 10, 2022
Join StarkWare’s CEO Eli Ben Sasson as he delves into the core concepts and methodologies behind Circle STARKs, exploring their theoretical foundations and practical applications.
He will discuss how the utilization of the Mersenne prime field M31 enhances the efficiency and scalability of STARKs, making them a robust solution for modern cryptographic challenges.
About the speaker:
Eli Ben-Sasson is the CEO of StarkWare. He is a founding scientist of the Zcash Company and co-inventor of the ZK-STARK, FRI and Zerocash protocols. Ben-Sasson studied computer science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, where he received his PhD in theoretical computer science in 2001. Since then, he has researched cryptographic and zero-knowledge proofs of computational integrity.
Between 2001 and 2005, he held research positions at Harvard University, MIT, and the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton. More recently, he was a professor of computer science at Technion — Israel Institute of Technology, which he left to help launch StarkWare. This talk was given at StarkWare Scholar Summit on August 5, 2024.
This event brought together a global community of researchers, engineers, and thought leaders to explore the latest and greatest in blockchain tech.
